RUCU is a mission team to Reading University campus, made up of Christians committed to making the message of Jesus Christ known. We're a community of believers drawn from a variety of church backgrounds and want to make disciples of Jesus. To read the key truths that the CU believes do check out the Doctrinal Basis. If you do not yet know who Jesus is, we would encourage you to find someone to help explain it to you via contacting one of the Committee or check out the Christianity page of the website to read what it means to become a Christian.

We are part of the UCCF movement, which has Christian Unions in Universities all over the UK. UCCF is part of the wider IFES movement supporting and upholding CU's all over the world. We are very excited to be part of this worldwide mission to reach students.

We wholeheartedly encourage every RUCU member to be part of the local Church. We are not an alternative to Church, but sent out by the local churches to bring the good news of Jesus to campus. The best placed people to reach students for Jesus, are students!

We meet together twice a week: once as a whole team and once as smaller groups in halls. Together we look through God's word in the Bible, to learn more about Him and apply it to our lives. We also pray together and encourage one another in our mission. The small group meet in every hall of accommodation at the University. These groups are open to everyone. If you are moving into halls and would like to find out more about your small group then feel free to get in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to help. We host events corporately as RUCU to enable anyone in the university to come and hear about Jesus. These events are also a great opportunity to invite friends along, to start conversations, and also a chance to meet people you don't know - all with the premise of building friendships and sharing the good news of Jesus.
