Events Week
'Events Week' takes place each year in the Spring Term as part of the year round evangelism programme. What it is is simple: an intense week of activity where we put on evangelistic events each day, do things like give out free tea and coffee on campus, have lunchbars with an apologetic edge, sports events in the afternoons and more gospel focused evening talks, often with exciting events alongside such as a music night, quiz night or even free food!
This week's aim is to share the Good News of Jesus with as many students as possible -there are around 17,000 on campus, most going by without a chance to hear about the claims of Jesus, and we hope to reach out in this week to meet new people, make new friends and start people off on a journey to accepting what Jesus has done for them.
This year it will take place in Week 4 of the Spring Term, and takes the whole CU to get involved boldly speaking to their friends about who Jesus is, inviting them along to events, and practically making these events happen by flyering, putting up posters and engaging with the campus through the 'Question Board' and 30 Second Questionaires.
Events week is not the only time we reach out to campus, but it's one week when we aim to reach new people with the gospel, bring along friends we are already speaking to and praying for, and to do it in a way not sustainable across the rest of the year!
