Events Team

The events team is a committed group of people within the CU which endeavour to organise large scale events to reach campus with our wonderful gospel message. We try and organise events that are:

  • 1)Relational: Meeting people where they are
  • 2)Invitational: Easy events to invite our friends to
  • 3)Conversational: Able to create atmospheres where the gospel may be shared and relationships built.
  • 4)Proclamational: Clearly proclaiming God's wonderful gospel message.

We meet regularly to discuss how to run different events and how we can best equip the CU to meet different groups of people on our campus that in our ordinary everyday evangelism we may not be able to reach.

Next term we aim to run a number of apologetic style lunchbars tackling the issues of truth, science and suffering; live music evenings; grill-a-christian evenings; salsa and African dance workshops; regular question café's and a course for people to investigate the person of Jesus, what he did and who he was/is.

If you would like to be involved in this team, please contact Josh at Milkybar_kid87@hotmail.com.

Publicity

Although design is a key part of our advertising, it's not all about being an artist! There are plenty of ways you can be involved in the publicity team including: website management, photography, filming and editing, publicity management, and journalism opportunities! If you would like to know more, please contact Abi at llu07akm@reading.ac.uk.

Technical Assistants

The techies are some of our most valued behind-the-scenes members in the CU! Each main meeting and event we have a whole host of technical equipment to set up and operate, so if you feel this is something you can be a part of, please contact Peter at siu07ph@reading.ac.uk.

Transport

We often need car owners to help transport music equipment to and from the main meetings as well as occasionally moving people around. If you have a car at Uni and feel you can offer your services to the CU in this way, please contact Josh at milkybar_kid87@hotmail.com.

Giving and Donating

Details for those interested in donating:

We are always thankful for those who give up either time or money to assist our ministry here on campus. If you feel that the Lord is prompting you to give to the CU this can be done through:

  • 1)Standing Orders: CU members and former CU members mainly give by standing order, though anyone can!
  • 2)Cheque: If all cheques could be made payable to 'Reading University Christian Union' that would be fantastic. Our address is:

Reading University Christian Union,
Park House Lodge,
Whiteknights,
Reading,
RG6 6AH

Please feel free to contact Rachel at lnu07rlp@reading.ac.uk if you have any questions. We'd love to send you our prayer letter so that you can be kept up to date with what God is doing here on campus and to share encouragements and areas for prayer.
